We leave the village of Vivero following the calle de Arriba to reach the Braña de Vivero along a path in good condition and practically flat. We continue through a grassy meadow until we reach a branch that comes out on the left with a large stone milestone.
We continue straight on until we cross the Portillín stream until we reach a cattle enclosure known as La Pradera. We take a small path to the left, ascending little by little until we reach a sharp bend where we must continue along a narrow valley with a steep climb until we find a forest track that will take us to the Fuentefría pass and from there to the Nevadín peak. From here we can see the valleys of Vivero and Salientes, some lakes and the peaks of Peña Grande and Peña Vendimia.
The route continues along these last two peaks to start descending the hillside until we find the well-trodden path that will take us back to Vivero.
