Posada de Omaña

Located in the heart of the Valle Gordo, Posada de Omaña is known for the high quality of the potatoes it grows. Today it still conserves important examples of houses with traditional wooden corridors.

Every 15th August it is customary to go on a pilgrimage to the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Peñafurada, located halfway between Posada de Omaña and Tremor de Arriba, in El Bierzo. On 16 August, the traditional «bollas de San Roque» are handed out to the members of the Brotherhood. Since 2006, a Tapas Competition has also been held on the second Sunday in August to promote the Valle Gordo Potato.
