ACEBAL DE VILLANUEVA AND ASCENT TO LA CAMPA

Distance: 8.3 km

We leave the village of Villanueva de Omaña following the path that runs along the Río Pequeño along a dirt track. After about 2 kilometres, we come across the Acebal, one of the best preserved in the whole of Spain, and continue up the path.

The last part of the route runs through an oak grove, a birch grove and some pine trees without a marked path, but it is worthwhile once you reach the summit as it offers some quite spectacular views of the area. We return to the village by the same route.
