The name of the village comes from the medieval bridge, or perhaps older, located in the middle of the village and which links the neighbourhood of Portugal with those of the Prazuela and the Fuente.<\/p>\n<p>Barrio has two interesting hermitages, that of Nuestro Se\u00f1or Jes\u00fas Nazareno, next to the Parish Church, and that of Santo Cristo, in the Casablanca neighbourhood. From Barrio you can take interesting hiking routes to Monte Suspir\u00f3n or look for traces of Roman gold mining.
